Why your own group, why now? What can we expect?

Hi everybody! I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Dennis Delaney, and I figured I'd take a moment to answer a couple questions everybody is asking me. First, I'm always asked, why did you get into this? I've always been intrigued with the idea of the paranormal. I was always curious about what else could possibly be out there that one a day-to-day basis, most of us never even consider. And with the popularity of shows like Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures, it brought to light so many places to experience this other side of things, even some very close to home. So, why exactly? I'm curious. Like the X-Files, I WANT to believe. I've experienced some things that I couldn't quite explain, but none of which that I'm going to run around and scream, "this place is haunted!" I very much want to believe in all areas of the paranormal, however, without being able to experience it first hand, they are just stories to me. I want to experience something to prove to me, this is real, and I know for a fact because I was there. That is my main goal. Not to disprove anything somebody else says, but new experiences for myself.

And why your own group? Why not join up with somebody who is more established in this field? Let's just say, when opportunity presents itself, you take it. We're not looking to get our own TV show. Let's be honest, we'd probably get all of ten viewers consisting of friends and family. We're not made for TV personalities. That being said, we wouldn't say no to the opportunity. But, back to reality... We had discussed the opportunities in front of us. And as a core three members, joining up with a group together, didn't seem like it was going to happen. And let's face it, this field 99% of the time, doesn't make money, it loses it. It costs money for equipment; It costs money for location entry; It costs money for travel. To hear, from more than one group, that they will not be doing as many investigations for monetary reasons means there would be less opportunities for new members in groups. So, after days of discussion, the three of us, myself, Jeff and Colleen, decided that if we were going to do this, now was the time. We know we are going to have to start small. We've been going this off-and-on for a few years, but never something we decided to put a name behind. Well, now, we are. We feel we work well as a group. We know the style we are comfortable with, we know the strengths each of us brings to the table, and we also know the weaknesses we have. And each time we go out, much like sports, we try to do better. We try to correct the mistakes we've made in the past. Whether than means buying different equipment, changing our investigation style, or simply stepping outside of the box of what we are comfortable with. So, why our own group, now, in this time where this field is saturated by paranormal investigation groups? Aside from the fact we were very comfortable working together, we didn't feel the leadership of other groups was inline with what we were looking to accomplish. So instead of trying to shoe horn ourselves into another group, we decided to start at the bottom and begin the long journey of building a name for ourselves.

What do we hope to find? In short, proof; The truth. We are not mediums. We are not demonologists. We are not exorcists. We are a group of people with a shared interest in the paranormal. We all have had experiences of our own, and we want to know more, and experience more. We want to go out and capture proof of the experiences others and ourselves have had. We are not looking to go out and prove whether a place is haunted or not. We are not looking remove spirits from a location. We are simply trying to capture evidence of their existence. And more importantly, we have to enjoy what we do, and leave with some sense of accomplishment. You will never walk into every building and capture proof, but as long as we know we went in and did everything we possibly could, then that is all we can ask. I don't speak for the other members of GTS, but these are my opinions. We are not perfect. And like any field, we are always learning and advancing.

That being said, what can you, our faithful viewer, reader, listener, expect? First of all, this site will be our home for sharing all that we experience. In the form of these blogs about the places we visit, about our equipment or equipment we get a chance to handle, our evidence...whatever it is we feel like sharing. Maybe even how this fly landed on my computer screen and I swear it's reading what I'm typing. I digress. Obviously, the dust is still settling from getting everything set up, and expanding it into what our vision is, but we're getting there, slowly and surely. So expect us to always be trying to get out there, do new things, and post whatever it is we find.

Thanks for reading,
Dennis
